According to the announcement, its subsidiary, Viettel Global, won the right to use spectrum for 4G/5G mobile networks for 20 years.
The first phase of the project will last 2 years, focusing on network infrastructure and core services like mobile telecommunication, fixed broadband internet, and e-wallet services.
Viettel will then provide digital technology and value-added services, including data centers, cloud computing, cybersecurity, IT solutions, digital logistics, and other digital services.
The Dominican Republic is Viettel's 11th international telecom market.
