Under the agreement, Viettel and Qualcomm will jointly research, design, develop, and manufacture sixth-generation base stations. Viettel will research, design, integrate, manufacture, test, and assess product quality. Qualcomm will provide the chipsets. They will also evaluate 6G's compatibility with Viettel's equipment and optimize 6G performance in real-world uses.
The two companies have agreed to introduce Viettel's 5G equipment to Southeast Asian, South Asian, African, and Latin American markets and will soon cooperate in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, data centers, and next-gen wireless systems.
Participating in the early stages of 6G research will help Viettel master this core technology, contribute to global technological advancement, and strengthen Vietnam's role in the next-gen tech value chain.
