The program is still on-going in many communes, including Trung Ngai, Cang Long, Chaau Thanh, An Truong, Hung Nhuong, Binh Dai, and Phu Nhuan, as well as in Duyen Hai ward. It includes general health examinations, ultrasound screening for digestive diseases, urology, and free cataract surgery.
In addition to healthcare services, local authorities and sponsors have presented gifts and wheelchairs to war invalids and veterans with health issues.
Director of Vinh Long Department of Health, Ho Thi Thu Hang, said: "On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, we wants to express our gratitude to those who have contributed to the nation. We are providing free medical examinations, medicines, and gifts to local residents. We have also set up electronic health records to help monitor locals' health."
