In a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani described the MoU between Iran and the United States as “an encouraging development” and reaffirmed Italy’s readiness to support efforts to turn the document into a durable peace arrangement.
Qatar, one of the key mediators, said in a statement that the deal “represents a solid foundation for advancing to the next stage of negotiations between the US and Iran.”
Japan also welcomed the signing of the MoU, saying it will continue to work with the international community to support follow-up efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and other outstanding issues.
At a regular press briefing on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing welcomes the signing of the MoU and hopes the US and Iran will honor their commitments and implement the agreement in good faith.
