(VOVworld) – Over the past decade, Nguyen Ngoc Dan has organized three painting exhibits featuring Hanoi: “Spanning the street” in 2007, “Street” in 2012 and “Alley” in 2013. Dan’s paintings feature Hanoi streets with their tangle of electrical wires, road signs, and loudspeakers.

(VOVworld) – Rancher Ho Giao, a popular figure in many literary works by Vietnamese writers, passed away on October 14 at the age of 86. Ho Giao was the only farmer to be awarded the title “Labor Hero” twice, in 1966 and 1986, for his contributions to developing Vietnam’s ranches.

(VOVworld) - Vietnam ranked 5th among 104 countries and territories participating in the 56th International Mathematics Olympiad held in Thailand from July 4 to July 16. The six-member team claimed two gold medals, three silvers and one bronze. 11th grader Vu Xuan Trung of Thai Binh province was one of the two gold medalists.

(VOVworld) – The passing of 94-year-old musicologist Tran Van Khe on June 24 was a great loss to people who love traditional Vietnamese music. Professor Khe has dedicated his entire life to preserving Vietnam’s culture and introducing it to the world.
