Coral reefs revived on Cham Islands

(VOVWORLD) - Coral is considered the under-ocean home to aquatic species. Since 2012 experts of the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography have helped Cham islanders in Quang Nam province revive the polyped stony corals by farming techniques. The method has successfully revived thousands of square meters of corals, contributing to diversifying the UNESCO-recognized Cham Island Biosphere Reserve.

Satellite hospitals increase medical treatment opportunities for rural residents

(VOVWORLD) - Over the past 5 years, the Vietnamese government has invested millions of USD in a program to improve the ability of provincial and district hospitals to perform medical techniques transferred from the central hospitals. So far 23 core hospitals have transferred 2,000 medical techniques to grassroots-level health clinics. More than 85% of satellite hospitals have reduced the number of patients they send to central hospitals.
