The technology is part of the programme “Returning to the Sacred Moment”, which opened at the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

The initiative was instigated by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and jointly implemented by VTC News and the Centre for Information Technology and Communications (CDIT) under the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

At the event, VOV’s Vice President Ngo Minh Hien said VOV’s recreation of the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, so people, especially younger generations, could gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history and patriotic traditions.

“In Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, this programme carries a particularly sacred meaning. When we organize it in other provinces and cities, such as Quang Ninh and Nghe An, the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, each place evokes unique emotions. We hope that the ‘Returning to the Sacred Moment’ programme held at the Independence Palace will offer a special experience to visitors,” said Mr Hien.

Some visitors expressed their feeling.

“I’m very happy. It’s amazing that they can recreate these scenes in virtual reality and make them so vivid.”

“When I hear President Ho Chi Minh’s voice, I couldn’t hold back my emotions. I’m proud to be Vietnamese and grateful to be living in peacetime. This is a fantastic experience. I hope people in Ho Chi Minh City and adjacent provinces can come to the Independence Palace from August 19 to 21 to experience ‘the sacred moment’.”

Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the programme is a meaningful way to combine culture, history, communications and technology, helping bring traditional values to a wider audience, particularly young people.
