Since its establishment in 2008, the UPR has been one of the most successful mechanisms of the United Nations Human Rights Council, helping countries strengthen capacity in human right obligations and commitments on the principles of dialogue, cooperation, equality, objectivity, transparency, and construction.

Vietnam has always showed a high sense of responsibility. Vietnam submitted a voluntary Mid-term Report to the United Nations Human Rights Council last year, and is one of 39 countries to submit it. Vietnam will submit the 4th cycle report early next year.

Vietnam always ensures a number of principles, including the implementation of UPR recommendations in line with the national guidelines, policies, and efforts to guarantee and promote human rights, and build a rule-of-law socialist state.

The conference listened to foreign delegates’ presentations on building UPR reports, trends, and recommendations.
