Under the decision, VOV is the national radio broadcaster and a key multimedia, multilingual press and media agency of the Party and the State. It comprises 23 department-level units and operates a network of overseas bureaus.

The conference also announced the Politburo’s decision appointing Mr. Do Tien Sy, a member of the Party Central Committee, as VOV President, concurrently serving as Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization.

“The decision emphasizes that VOV serves as a core force in ideological and cultural work. Its functions include the production, transmission, broadcasting, distribution and archiving of radio programs, as well as the operation of print and online publications,” said Mr. Sy.
