Vietnamese embassies around the world are hosting banquets for the Vietnamese people living overseas to celebrate the traditional lunar New Year or Tet.

The Vietnamese embassy in Russia on Friday hosted a banquet for embassy staff, their families and the Vietnamese community in the country on the occasion of the tradition lunar new year. Ambassador Pham Xuan Son spoke highly of the mutual assistance among the Vietnamese community in the country, saying thanks to that thousands of new job were created and the community has been strengthened greatly.

The southern province of Tra Vinh has organized a gathering of more than 150 overseas Vietnamese returning home for Tet from many countries.

The 2012 spring flower festival has opened in Tao Dan Park, Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to flowers and bonsai, the festival features art performances and sports competitions.
