The participants discussed regulations on combating IUU fishing and the consequences of violating marine resources, national reputation, and seafood exports.

Fishermen were asked not to engage in illegal fishing in foreign waters and to strictly comply with regulations on vessel registration, inspection, fishing licenses, vessel monitoring systems, and fishing logbooks. There activities will contribute to Vietnam’s efforts to have the European Commission lift its "yellow card" warning on the country’s seafood exports.

On the occasion, the Naval Region 3 Command presented more than 200 national flags and distributed over 200 leaflets on IUU fishing regulations to fishermen in Thang An commune.
