The festival will feature the Colorful Sea and Island Carnival of Quang Ngai, a kite art performance, a lantern festival, an exhibition space highlighting cultural and maritime heritage, and a tourism promotion conference.
A ceremony will be held at An Vinh communal house in Ly Son Special Zone to honor soldiers who sacrificed their lives safeguarding Vietnam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son Special Zone, promised there will be exciting programs. "Ly Son will host a Half Marathon, now in its fifth edition, and an open swimming competition. This event is currently held in only a few countries worldwide. Ly Son held it in 2025. This year, it will return as part of the June tourism week, along with a Stand Up Paddle-board festival and other new tourism activities for Ly Son," Mr. Huy said.
The Quang Ngai Sea and Island Tourism Festival 2026 runs from April through the end of June.
