Lam Dong's functional forces examined more than 4,770 unidentified graves at 11 cemeteries and collected more than 3,600 biological samples.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Son is deputy head of the Political Department of the Lam Dong Military Command and a member of the provincial Steering Committee 515. He said: “Stemming from the dictates of the heart, we have mobilized the collective strength of the political system to carry out this mission. We worked with agencies, departments, sectors, and organizations to coordinate the plans and programs. Those who participated in this mission understood their responsibility and tried to carry out their tasks quickly and to the best of their ability, no matter the weather."
All procedures from reviewing, locating graves, to collecting, preserving, documenting, and digitizing samples were conducted quickly but with strict requirements.
