The Command has worked closely with local authorities, the Border Guard, fisheries management agencies, and fisheries surveillance forces to monitor fishing vessels' entry and exit. Fishing boats are tracked via the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS). Regular patrols and inspections have been conducted to prevent vessels from crossing maritime borders into neighboring countries' waters.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Tranh, Deputy Commander for Law Enforcement of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, said: "Vietnam's southwestern waters, which border Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia, see busy maritime traffic. We prioritize coordinated public outreach and legal education to improve fishermen's awareness of maritime borders. We are also utilizing digital technology like QR codes to help vessel owners and captains quickly access fisheries regulations and information on IUU violations. We have teams that communicate directly to fishermen and indirect communication channels as well."
