Kim Hoang folk paintings

(VOVworld) – Kim Hoang folk paintings which originates in Kim Hoang village, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi, flourished from the 18th to the 19th century. They mostly portray fixtures in the simple lives of people in the northern delta region, such as buffaloes, pigs, chicken, and village life on the Lunar New Year.

Truong Sa-Here we come

(VOVworld) – A photographic exhibition about the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago by Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) journalist Nguyen My Tra during her trip to the islands this June, opened in Hanoi. This is the first time a that female journalist has organized a photo exhibition about Truong Sa which inspires the visitors with warm and deep sentiments.

Vietnamese traditional culture through 12 typical kinds of folk paintings

(VOVorld) - Hanoi Museum in collaboration with Hanoi Ceramic Museum has hosted a thematic exhibition named “12 typical kinds of Vietnamese folk paintings”. The exhibition features excellent works from well-known painting genres such as the Dong Ho, Hang Trong, Sinh Village, Southern Do The, worship, Hue and Southern Glass, Kim Hoang, Fabric, and Scroll Fabric styles.

Tracing back traditional musical instruments’ uniqueness

(VOVworld) – After many years of efforts, the group “Dong Kinh co nhac” (Ancient music of Tonkin) has revived 16 traditional musical instruments which were created hundreds of years ago. The body of the instrument is made from wood and the strings are made from silk. This is the result of a project called “Singing a silk voice” by the group “Ancient music of Tonkin” in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
