Vietnamese people look towards the fatherland’s sacred sea and islands

(VOVworld)- A program themed “A great family of Vietnamese ethnic groups and national construction and defence” has been held in the National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism on the outskirts of Hanoi. More than 200 representatives from 32 ethnic groups from 8 cities and provinces attended the event. Various activities on the theme of seas, islands, borders and national sovereignty were held.

Tug of war- a multinational cultural heritage

(VOVworld)- Vietnam has completed a dossier on “Rituals and Tug of War folk games” to seek UNESCO recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by 2015. Vietnam has joined the Republic of Korea, Cambodia and the Philippines to submit a multinational dossier about their traditional tug-of-war games. This has helped promote Vietnamese culture and strengthen cultural exchanges between Vietnam and other regional countries.
