This year’s festival showcases a “Lotus Road,” artistic lantern displays, and “Lotus in the City” decorations, alongside trade and tourism promotion activities, an exhibition of the lotus value chain, and displays of regional specialties. There are conferences on promoting lotus products and the One Commune One Product (OCOP) supply-demand connection, a seminar on lotus product enhancement, and exhibitions of domestic and foreign lotus varieties.

At a culinary corner, visitors can sample lotus-inspired dishes, both traditional and new.

Nguyen Thi Anh Tien of Cao Lanh ward said: “Through products such as lotus milk, lotus ice cream, fresh and dried lotus seeds, and lotus herbal tea, we hope to promote the beautiful image of the flower to visitors from near and far.”

During the festival, 34 hot-air balloons and other flying machines will illuminate the night sky at Van Mieu Park, producing a colorful and enchanting spectacle.

Ho Thi Hue Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the Cao Lanh People's Committee, said: “Through this festival, we hope to introduce Dong Thap’s lotus-based cuisine to visitors. In addition to cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, we are focusing on connecting businesses and producers in the lotus sector to showcase the diversity and richness of lotus products to tourists. “

In Dong Thap province, known as ‘the land of pink lotus’, the lotus is a cultural symbol, a key “green economic sector”, and one of the province’s agricultural strengths.

The Dong Thap Lotus Festival seeks to enhance the cultural and economic value of lotus-based products, promotes lotus farming linked with tourism development, and strengthens the province’s image as a distinctive destination.
