In the 2023-2025 period, Quang Nam province plans to improve housing conditions for 11,600 households by building 8,100 new homes at a total estimated cost of 23.3 million USD. As of mid-February, the province had demolished 5,590 houses, 48% of the target.

The Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has proposed several solutions, including providing preferential loans, adjusting housing quotas and costs based on specific needs and locations, and ensuring lump-sum capital allocation to districts, cities, and towns.

Agencies have been tasked with monitoring progress. The province is mobilizing financial support from central and provincial budgets, and from community contributions.

Special assistance will be given to national contributors, vulnerable households, the elderly, the ill, and households affected by natural disasters.

Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said: "Priority should be given to those with meritorious service. 1,180 homes have been designated for either new construction or repair. The Department of Home Affairs and Labor is taking over as the primary coordinating body, replacing the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs."

With a budget of 10 million USD in provincial funds and an additional 5.2 million USD mobilized from other sources, Quang Nam province should have the financial resources to achieve its goal of eliminating temporary and substandard housing within the year.
