It featured the distinctive culture and lifestyle of Vietnam’s southernmost province such as the rich colors of local specialties, the soulful melodies of don ca tai tu or southern folk singing, and the warm hospitality of local residents.
Attendees enjoyed local food specialties and performances of don ca tai tu music, and participated in a cross-forest marathon, forest walks under green melaleuca canopies, boat racing, the challenge of crossing monkey bridges, and close encounters with the generous, warm-hearted culture of Ca Mau province.
Nguyen Thi Hong Diep of Tan Thanh ward said: “I just participated in the boat rowing. It brought back memories of my old days. The distinctive melaleuca fragrance of U Minh forest reminds me of the song lyric “U Minh is surrounded by melaleuca forests,” which is deeply rooted in the hearts of Ca Mau people. The boat rowing evoked overwhelming emotions that took me back to my twenties.”
Within U Minh Ha National Park, visitors found don ca tai tu performances, the aroma of fermented fish hotpot, and booths selling products from the One Commune One Product program, such as natural honey, fresh water fish, and a variety of fish sauce.
Tran Cong Hoang, Director of U Minh Ha National Park said: “This event aimed to foster the local ecotourism potential, promote local products, strengthen trade connections, boost economic development, preserve traditional cultural values, and spread the image of Ca Mau. Through diverse activities, we let visitors experience life in the U Minh region and raised their awareness of the importance of protecting natural resources.”
