(VOVWORLD) - The head of the UN’s Global Commission on the Economics of Water has highlighted Vietnam’s successes in water usage and management for agricultural production. Tharman Shanmugaratnam told the 43rd Session of the Ministerial-level FAO Conference in Rome from July 1-7 that Vietnam’s water projects have greatly benefited its economy and farmers.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is strengthening efforts to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing as recommended by the European Commission (EC). According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, communications should be strengthened to dissuade fishing vessels from violating foreign waters and promote sustainable marine aquaculture and fisheries development in order to get the yellow card removed.

Upholding that spirit, the Steering Committee for Economic Diplomacy held a conference in Hanoi on Monday to continue effectively implementing Directive 15 of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on economic diplomacy.
