(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide and his wife began an official visit to Vietnam on Sunday at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The Japanese Prime Minister will hold talks with Prime Minister Phuc, pay a courtesy visit to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, and meet with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The visit aims to improve the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.

(VOVWORLD) - Fundraising to help flood victims in central Vietnam is underway nationwide in response to the Prime Minister’s appeal. At least 88 people have died and around 53,000 families have been evacuated due to flooding and landslides in the region.

(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide will visit Vietnam later this month at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. This is the second time in a row that a new Japanese Prime Minister has chosen Vietnam for his first overseas trip after taking office. The visit shows the political and economic trust between the two countries and that Japan consistently values its ties with Vietnam and ASEAN.
