UNCLOS enforcement, legal order strengthened in the East Sea

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam, a coastal country with a coastline of more than 3,260 km and thousands of islands, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, respects and abides by the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Vietnam urges other countries to comply with UNCLOS to protect the legal order at sea and make the East Sea a sea of peace and prosperity.

Vietnam accelerates EVFTA ratification

(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations held a meeting on Tuesday to authorize ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). The Ministry of Industry and Trade has rushed to bring the EVFTA into force to resolve difficulties for businesses and promote Vietnam-EU trade.

(VOVWORLD) - China has recently expanded its illegal claims in the East Sea (internationally known as the South Chin Sea) by announcing the establishment of two districts in Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago. This action flouts international law, violates Vietnam’s sovereignty and indisputable sovereign rights over the two archipelagoes, threatens peace, undermines cooperation between countries, and tarnishes China’s image in the region.
