(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and the European Union (EU) last Sunday signed a Free Trade Agreement and Investment Protection Agreement, known as EVFTA and EVIPA. These are the agreements that ensure bilateral benefits with strong commitments to opening respective markets. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to increase their integration and expand the export market for agricultural products.

(VOVWORLD) - According to a plan approved by the Prime Minister, Vietnam must equitize 127 state-owned enterprises (SOE) during the 2017-2020 period. But to date, less than one third of the enterprises have been equitized. The question now is what to do to complete the plan on time?

(VOVWORLD) - A study of Google and Temasek from Singapore reports that Vietnam’s digital economy reached 3 billion USD in 2015 and 9 billion USD in 2019, and will reach 30 billion USD in 2025. Another study by Australia’s Data 61 forecasts that Vietnam’s GDP may add an additional 162 billion USD in 20 years if the country’s digital transformation is successful.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam considers China a high potential export, especially for agricultural and aquatic products from its south-western provinces.

(VOVWORLD) - 2018 was the second consecutive year Quang Ninh province’s Customs Department earned top position in the Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI) ranking and second place in administrative reform of central agencies. The result has been attributed to the customs sector’s administrative reform.

The region consistently leads Vietnam in economic development. The message was delivered at a just-concluded seminar in Hanoi on the outcome of the restructuring and bolstering of SOE equitisation.
