(VOVWORLD) -Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), on Tuesday held a working meeting with Communist Party USA (CPUSA) Co-Chairman Joe Sims and other party leaders in New York City.

Ambassador Viet emphasized that the documents of the 14th National Party Congress continue to reaffirm the path of building and safeguarding the homeland with the socialist orientation amid complex global and regional developments, focusing on combining national development with national defense, and domestic affairs with foreign affairs.
The documents add much important content, including several breakthrough guiding viewpoints on foreign affairs and international integration, notably the principle that strengthening national defense and security while promoting foreign affairs and international integration is an essential, regular task.
CPUSA Co-Chairman Joe Sims praised Vietnam’s major and comprehensive achievements, noting that they demonstrate the resolve, wisdom, and correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and serve as vivid evidence of the vitality of the development path Vietnam has chosen.
The Communist Party of the USA believes that the 14th National Party Congress will continue to generate new momentum, open a new era of breakthrough development, and propel Vietnam forward rapidly and sustainably.
