AMRO forecasts Vietnam to lead growth in ASEAN+3 in 2026

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s GDP growth in 2026 is projected at 7.6%, the highest among ASEAN+3 economies, according to the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO)’s report released on January 21.

The projection is based on an evaluation of Vietnam's growth momentum in 2025, its increasingly prominent role in regional supply chains, as well as the effectiveness of FDI inflows into manufacturing, technology, and export-oriented services.

AMRO forecasts that the ASEAN+3 region, which comprises 10 Southeast Asian countries, China, Japan, and South Korea, will continue its positive growth momentum at 4% in 2026, higher than previous forecasts.

The main drivers of growth come from the strong recovery of technology exports, high demand for electronics, semiconductors, and AI, along with abundant FDI inflows into ASEAN, helping the region maintain its centrality in the global supply chain.
