ASEAN Para Games 13 : Vietnam wins 14 golds in 2 days

(VOVWORLD) -As of the end of Thursday, the second official day of the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, the Vietnamese paralympic team clinched 14 golds, 15 silvers, and 15 bronzes, ranking 5th on the medal table.

Thursday was a good day for Vietnamese athletes as they bagged 6 more golds and set 3 new records. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy won the gold medal in the 15.30m women's discus throw (F54 category) and set the event record.

Another gold medal belongs to track and field athlete Dinh Thao Duyen in the 4.53m women's long jump (T12 category), also breaking the event record.

Swimming continues to be Vietnam’s flagship sport as the swimmers clinched 8 more medals, including a gold medal by swimmer Vo Huynh Anh Khoa in the men's 100m backstroke (S7-S8 category). With a performance of 1 minute 12 seconds 94, Khoa broke his own Games record.
