President Xi said this year is the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and marks several important milestones in their bilateral relations. China will expand its high-level opening-up and share new development opportunities with countries around the world, including Russia, Xi said. China and Russia should increase high-level exchanges, strengthen practical cooperation in various fields, and promote comprehensive strategic coordination, he added.

According to President Xi, China and Russia are major powers and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Amid complex global developments, they must encourage the international community to uphold fairness and justice, defend a UN-centered international system, and maintain global strategic stability.

President Putin said he appreciates recent developments in their bilateral relations and wishes to increase strategic coordination with China on multilateral platforms such as the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS, contributing positively to global issues. Putin pledged Russia's support for China's hosting of an unofficial APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen.
