He said Vietnam’s foreign policy reached new heights in 2024, creating momentum for entering a new era of national rise.
According to Mr. Son, the world suffered continuous upheavals in the past year, marked by instability and conflict. Global challenges like climate change, natural disasters, pandemics, food insecurity, and water insecurity, have threatened the stable development of nations. In this turbulent context, Vietnam has managed to be a peaceful, stable, growing nation and earn recognition from the international community as one of the bright spots in the region.
"Foreign affairs activities have been carried out proactively and energetically, yielding tangible results and establishing a new dimension of diplomacy. This has paved the way for Vietnam to step confidently into a rising era," Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Son said.
Throughout 2024 Vietnam demonstrated remarkable diplomatic dynamism, conducting 60 high-level diplomatic activities, including 21 visits to other countries and participation in multilateral conferences, while hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders. The country's commitment to international cooperation was further evidenced by the signing of 170 new cooperation agreements in multiple sectors, according to Mr. Son.
