Hanoi receives UNESCO “Global Learning City” title
(VOVWORLD) -The Hanoi People’s Committee held a ceremony on Thursday at the Temple of Literature to receive UNESCO "Global Learning City" title.

UNESCO’s recognition of Hanoi as a member of the Global Network of Learning Cities confirms its position as a dynamic capital city, apply digital technology and digital transformation, and join hands with the whole society to invest in education and lifelong learning, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang told the ceremony.
“The journey of building a Learning City has no end. It is a persistent journey, requiring passionate hearts and unwavering will. With its thousand-year-old cultural tradition, I believe Hanoi will become a model "Learning City," a beacon of intellect and humanity in the region and the world. Hanoi will strive to honor its commitments, actively cooperate with other members of the Network, promote education and training activities,” Thang added.

Hanoi was named a member of UNESCO’s Global Network of Learning Cities on December 4, 2025. With the latest expansion, the Global Network of Learning Cities – launched in 2013 – has grown to 425 members from 91 countries, collectively supporting lifelong learning opportunities for nearly half a billion people.
