(VOVWORLD) - India and France have elevated their ties to Special Global Strategic Partnership, aiming to promote stability, prosperity, and global cooperation amid growing international uncertainties.
At a joint press conference on Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron said India-France relations had entered a new, strategic and comprehensive phase, making a positive contribution to regional and global stability and development.
Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in defense, clean energy, space, emerging technologies, and innovation, and launched the “India–France Year of Innovation,” featuring research hubs and stronger linkages among businesses, start-ups, students, and scientists of the two countries.
The two leaders inaugurated an Airbus H125 helicopter assembly line in India, serving both domestic demand and international exports. They also reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism, global institutional reform, and peace in Ukraine, West Asia, and the Indo-Pacific region, and their determination to combat terrorism in all forms.
