(VOVWORLD) - The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam by Monday had received 559 messages of congratulations from 109 political parties, six international and regional organizations, 16 individuals, 122 people’s organizations, and 306 associations of overseas Vietnamese.

At the opening session of the Congress in Hanoi on Tuesday, Bui Thi Quynh Van, a member of the Congress Secretariat, said the congratulatory messages show friendship, cooperation, and keen interest in this major political event of the Party and the State.
Ms. Van said that the messages offer strong support for Vietnam’s renewal process led by the Communist Party of Vietnam. They also show closer ties between the Party and international partners, as well as the growing connection of overseas Vietnamese to the homeland.
"The Party and State express sincere thanks to political parties, organizations, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends for their support for the 14th National Party Congress and for Vietnam and its people," she added.
