NZ Parliament Speaker to visit Vietnam as both nations mark 50 years of diplomatic ties

(VOVWORLD) -Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives (Parliament) Gerry Brownlee begins his official visit to Vietnam on Wednesday, running from August 27 to 31, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

The visit comes as the two countries have just celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (June 19, 1975 – June 19, 2025). This is also Speaker Brownlee’s first official visit to Vietnam since taking office.

During the trip, Speaker Brownlee is scheduled to hold talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and meet with senior Vietnamese Party and State leaders.
