Vietnam's two centenary goals, linked to the 100th anniversaries of the Party and the nation, aim for rapid, sustainable development. By 2030, Vietnam aims to be a developing nation with modern industry and upper-middle income. By 2045, it aims to become a developed, high-income country.
The Party leader made the call in his closing remarks at the end of the three-day second meeting of the 14th Party Central Committee in Hanoi. He affirmed that at this meeting, the Party Central Committee reached a very high level of consensus on major issues of the Party and the country.
Emphasizing what needs to be done in the near future, General Secretary Lam proposed continuing to thoroughly understand and consistently implement the "Four Steadfastnesses" in politics and ideology. They are steadfastly applying and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; steadfastly adhering to the goals of national independence and Socialism; steadfastly upholding to the Party's renewal guideline; and steadfastly observing the Party's organizational and operational principles to firmly defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Party General Secretary To Lam underlined the goal of "double-digit" economic growth, saying, “Effectively utilize all available resources, prioritize key projects, and promote public-private partnerships to increase investment efficiency and national competitiveness. Resource utilization must be based on scientific principles, clear socio-economic accounting, ensuring efficient capital use, overcoming inefficiency, and waste. Selected projects must have a strategic impact on the entire economy, create substantial added value, and contribute to strengthening key national infrastructure. High economic growth must ensure that it serves the interests and improves the material and spiritual lives of the people and promotes social justice.”
The General Secretary said the satisfaction of the people and businesses must be the true measure and the ultimate criterion for evaluating the success of the two-tiered local government model.
Regarding inspection, oversight, power control, and the fight against corruption, waste, and negative practices, General Secretary Lam stressed high political determination, resolute, persistent, regular, and continuous action, strict handling of all violations with the principle of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions," while deeply understanding humanism, the supremacy of law, and the goal of development.
