After more than four months of implementing an intense campaign against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, all eligible fishing vessels have been properly marked, numbered, and equipped with vessel monitoring systems.
A provincial inspection delegation led by Cao Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, recently conducted on-site inspections of urgent IUU prevention tasks at Hai Chau Port, Ngoc Son ward and Lach Bang Fishing Port, Hai Binh ward. Inspection results showed that fishing vessel management has been standardized, with no vessels violating foreign waters.
Around the clock monitoring of sea journey, handling of signal loss, boundary crossings, and the management of ineligible vessels have been carried out strictly.
To date, Thanh Hoa province has completed all 19 out of 19 anti-IUU fishing tasks assigned by the government.
