At a press conference on Friday with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said resuming nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US is essential to ease tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that although the European Union (EU) considers Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a "terrorist organization," this does not mean cutting off dialogue with Tehran. The EU still needs to maintain channels of dialogue to resolve regional issues, Tajani added.
US President Donald Trump delivered Iran an ultimatum that Iran engage in talks or face a military solution. “Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal - NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS - one that is good for all parties,” he wrote on Truth Social.
