The Ministry is working on a detailed schedule of tasks to ensure the project's commencement by the end of 2026, Mr. Huy told a press conference for the first quarter of 2026 held on Friday in Hanoi.     

“For the North-South High-Speed Railway project, we have selected European consultants. Ineco, a major Spanish engineering consulting firm, is the lead company assisting us in project management. To assess the project's effectiveness, technical aspects, and technological issues, we need a feasibility study report. According to legal regulations and practice, this is necessary to obtain sufficient data to answer questions regarding total investment, effectiveness, and investment model,” Deputy Minister Huy added. 

The Ministry of Construction said that in 2026, in addition to key objectives such as completing sectoral planning, promoting research and technology transfer in infrastructure development, and making targeted investments in human resource development, the Ministry will continue to prioritize developing 5,000 km of expressways, investing in key national railway lines, increasing capacity at airports, and finding solutions to mobilize resources for development investment.
