Iran says any US attack would be a declaration of war

(VOVWORLD) - A senior Iranian official on Wednesday warned that any US attack against Iran will be regarded as a declaration of war and will be met with a swift and forceful response.

Ali Shamkhani, senior political adviser and representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made the statement in a post written in Hebrew on social media platform X. He said, “any military action by the US, from any source and at any level, will be viewed as the beginning of a war.”
Shamkhani warned that Iran will deliver an “immediate, comprehensive, and unprecedented” response, targeting “the aggressor, the heart of Tel Aviv, and all those who support the aggressor.”
The statement came after US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that a “massive armada” of American forces was moving toward the country. He warned “time is running out” for Tehran to agree to a deal limiting its nuclear program.
Senior Iranian officials rejected the warning, saying Iran will not engage in negotiations while it’s under threat.
