US President to visit China in late March
(VOVWORLD) -US President Donald Trump will visit China from March 31 to April 2 and will meet with President Xi Jinping in Beijing, the White House said on Friday.

Talks between President Trump and President Xi during the visit are expected to focus on extending the trade truce, which has helped the two countries avoid further escalation of tariffs. The upcoming visit will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since their meeting in South Korea last October, when they reached a trade truce deal.
According to President Trump, President Xi has expressed willingness to consider increasing soybean imports from the US, a move that will be significant for American farmers, given that China is the world's largest soybean consumer.
The China visit will be the first by a US President to Beijing since President Trump's last visit in 2017. "That's going to be a wild one," Trump told foreign leaders visiting Washington on Thursday about the upcoming China visit. "We have to put on the biggest display you've ever had in the history of China."
