After nearly two months in operation, Van Don airport has welcomed more than 12,000 passengers. Quang Ninh province has issued incentives for transportation from Van Don International Airport to Ha Long city and other places in the province, offered free tickets for passengers to visit Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu mountain, and supported businesses to open offices.

Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee, said: “Tours to Quang Ninh province will be diversified. Van Don International Airport and Ha Long International Cruise Port will be the two gateways to Vietnam. We encourage airlines and travel agencies to enhance marketing activities and diversify products to attract tourists and investors to Quang Ninh.”

Van Don International Airport is the first private airport in Vietnam. It can receive large-capacity aircrafts. Terminal 1 can receive 2.5 million passengers and 10,000 tonnes of cargo per year.
