(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Norway should further strengthen cooperation in investment and trade, agriculture, sustainable fisheries development, high technology, climate change adaptation, environmental protection, and green growth, said Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

At a meeting with Norwegian Minister of International Development Åsmund Aukrust in Hanoi on Tuesday, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in traditional areas such as education and training, capacity building, institutional strengthening, gender equality promotion, and socio-economic development.
Minister Åsmund Aukrust affirmed Norway’s desire to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in trade, sustainable seafood, green energy, the marine economy, green transition, and circular economy development.
Both sides agreed to push forward negotiations and work toward the early signing of a Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), comprising Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, to diversify markets and bring tangible benefits to businesses and people in both sides.
