Vietnam teams up with ASML to build semiconductor capacity

(VOVWORLD) - Finance Minister Nguyen Van Thang has called on ASML, the world’s largest supplier to the semiconductor industry, to establish a semiconductor training, research, and development center at the National Innovation Center (NIC) in Hanoi.

At a recent meeting with ASML Senior Vice President Eduard Stiphout in Hanoi, Minister Thang urged the Dutch company to support Vietnamese enterprises in developing semiconductor manufacturing, research, and testing infrastructure, and technical services.

Stiphout said ASML is expanding its supply chain in Vietnam and is working with partners on plans to set up a semiconductor training and R&D center at the NIC.

The company is also assessing the possibility of supplying equipment to potential customers in Vietnam, he noted.
