(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Women's Union on Tuesday organizes a ceremony to commemorate heroes and martyrs at historical sites in Dien Bien province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union, said: “This is a big event of Vietnamese women across the country to commemorate the Dien Bien victory. We have organized exchanges with the soldiers and social security activities in 5 communes, and handed over of compassionate houses to poor women in Dien Bien province.”
The Vietnam Women's Union gave 500 gifts and cash to martyrs' mothers, Dien Bien veterans, policy families, and poor women, gave gifts to soldiers and adopted children at Tay Trang and Pa Thom border station and Dien Bien province’s Social Protection Center. 70 "Great Solidarity Houses" were given to policy families in difficult circumstances.
The exchange program "Forever cherishing the love of soldiers and people" at May 7 Square, Dien Bien Phu city.
At the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, the Vietnam Women's Museum, the Vietnam Women's Union, and the Women's Union of Dien Bien province co-organized a photo exhibition "Women with Dien Bien".
