In an interview with reporters in Berlin, Pham Khanh Nam, editor-in-chief of Huong Viet Magazine in Germany, said each election offers citizens an opportunity to affirm their right to self-determination and to express their expectations for representatives who have the dedication, competence and willpower to guide the country’s development.
Nam said the 16th National Assembly is expected to continue promoting institutional reform, building a transparent investment environment, encouraging innovation and expanding development opportunities for businesses and intellectuals.
Flexible mechanisms, coordinated policies and a transparent environment would help turn the intellectual and financial resources of overseas Vietnamese into concrete drivers of development, he said, adding that this is not only an economic issue but also a demonstration of the strength of national unity in an era of deep integration.
He also expressed confidence that the election would be democratic, transparent and conducted in accordance with the law, allowing the will of the people to be fully reflected in decisions shaping national development.
