Vietnamese workers in Saudi Arabia guaranteed safety amid COVID-19 pandemic

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia is stepping up measures to support and ensure the safety of about 10,000 Vietnamese people living there amid the spreading COVID-19 pandemic.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Vu Viet Dung said no Vietnamese in Saudi Arabia has been infected with the virus.

The Embassy frequently posts pandemic updates on its website and on social networks and urges Vietnamese living abroad to follow the prevention measures recommended by their host country, said Mr. Dung.

He said the Embassy has posted hotline numbers for the Embassy and local health agencies, and a list of 25 hospitals in Saudi Arabia that can provide COVID-19 care, adding COVID-19 patients are being quarantined and treated at hospitals free of charge.

The Vietnamese Embassy has asked companies and partners in Saudi Arabia to inform their Vietnamese workers about the latest developments and report any new COVID-19 cases.
