At his meeting with Russian Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko, the PM stressed the need to promptly implement the outcomes of his recent official visit to Russia. He called for accelerating preparations for high-level visits, enhancing exchanges at all levels, and preparing for the next session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee in 2026.
He also urged both sides to swiftly implement signed agreements, building on their strong tradition of cooperation, especially in oil and gas exploration and production, while expanding into new and renewable energy and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
PM Chinh suggested that the ambassador encourage relevant Russian authorities and businesses to send working delegations to Vietnam to conduct surveys and coordinate with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the development of urban railway systems, as well as to enhance bilateral railway connectivity.
During a separate meeting with Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam, PM Chinh emphasized the need to further advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to raise bilateral trade to 100 billion USD in the near term and 150 billion USD by 2030 in a more balanced manner. He also encouraged Korean enterprises to expand investment in semiconductors, core technologies and renewable energy.
Amid complex developments in the Middle East, the PM called for closer cooperation to address shared challenges, particularly in ensuring energy security.
He also proposed that the RoK share its experience in energy governance and alternative fuels, while promoting further investment in Vietnam’s key energy infrastructure projects to enhance resilience and capacity to withstand external shocks.
