(VOVWORLD) - Over the past few weeks, the English Service of VOVWorld has received letters, emails, and feedback from our long-time listeners, who began listening to VOV in the 1970s or 1980s and have been following VOV since then.

(VOVWORLD) - This week VOVWORLD received 448 letters and phone calls from listeners in 35 countries and territories. Many of them were from regular listeners who send us reception reports on a weekly basis.

(VOVWORLD) - Lotus flowers have an important place in the Vietnamese spirit and culture. Vietnamese people consider the lotus a symbol of beauty overcoming darkness. Lotus symbolizes purity, serenity, commitment, and optimism because it grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with exquisite beauty.

(VOVWORLD) - This week we’ve got a letter from Gunnar Green of Sweden, who first wrote to VOV in 1969. In his latest letter he enclosed a copy of a VOV QSL card issued on May 26, 1969, from VOV’s headquarters at 58 Quan Su street.

(VOVWORLD) - First on our show today, we’d like to welcome Ding Lu of China, who reported listening to the Voice of Vietnam from 19:00 to 19:27 UTC on April 4 on the frequencies of 9730 khz and 11885 khz.

(VOVWORLD) - In this week's Letter Box, beside listeners' reception reports and feedback, we'll talk about the Muslim community in Vietnam on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
