The tournament will run from July 17-23. An opening ceremony was held by the Vietnam Sports Authority and the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Pencak silat, a traditional martial art of Southeast Asia, symbolizes the martial spirit, courage, respect, and solidarity among nations and their people, said Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The tournament is a chance for athletes to compete, demonstrate sportsmanship, promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and friendship among participating countries, she added.
