The sector aims to maintain a monthly export turnover of more than 6 billion USD to meet its goal of 74.2 billion USD in export turnover for the whole year. In the first 8 months of 2026, its export turnover reached 49.3 billion USD, which is 66% of the annual target.
From January 1 to September 10, 2026, China, the EU, the Middle East, and Africa have together issued a total of 249 sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures, 99 of which have already taken effect.
Ngo Xuan Nam, Deputy Director of Vietnam SPS Office, said: “Our two solutions to meet these markets' requirements are keeping ourselves updated and forecasting. For China, there are currently 2,589 products open for exports, which include fresh, processed, and other types of products. We can tap into new product groups. At the same time, we must promote other markets in the Middle East. Halal is also an important market to tackle. By expanding to various markets, we will achieve our export target.”
Vietnam's export growth for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products is expected to accelerate in the final months of the year. Export turnover is forecast to reach more than 7 billion USD this September alone and will likely hit the 4% growth target for the whole year.
