The teams produced AI models that met real business demands, datasets, and operational needs. This practical approach to AI is in line with Vietnam's AI development strategy, which is transitioning from researching AI to providing AI solutions that serve socio-economic development, said Nguyen Khuong Duy, Product Director of FPT AI Factory and a member of the judging panel.

"We will pilot the teams' AI solutions at our company. These solutions need to be experimented with before they can be put on the market. Most AI applications need customization to fit each organizations' operational needs," Duy said.

VAIC was created to seek AI products that can help businesses and organizations address real-world challenges. It aims to strengthen Vietnam's innovation ecosystem and AI development, said Nguyen Thu Thao, Meta's Public Policy Director for Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

"This is the first time we have worked with the National Innovation Center on an AI-focused program. We have high expectations because we know Vietnamese young people are highly capable and very practical in their approach. We are also encouraged by the strong participation of Vietnam's business community", she added.
