Meeting with Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley on Monday as part of his state visit to Australia, General Secretary and President Lam noted that the Vietnam-Australia relationship is becoming increasingly deep, substantive, and effective.

He suggested that Australia consider cultivating Vietnamese coffee varieties and called on both sides to soon boost cooperation in high-tech agriculture, biotechnology, agricultural processing, trade, and investment. The Vietnamese top leader reiterated Vietnam's support for Australia's development and its desire to collaborate in fostering relations between Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.

For her part, Governor Beazley applauded the contributions of the Vietnamese-Australian community. She fully agreed with General Secretary and President Lam’s proposal to establish science, technology, and innovation as a new pillar of bilateral cooperation, alongside promoting joint high-quality workforce training, agricultural development, and collaboration in other areas where both sides possess strengths.
